Rapid Eye Movement (REM) refers to the stage of sleep during which dreams occur — the eyes moving rapidly beneath closed lids. The FAMAS is custom painted with pink interlocking squares, each painted with lifelike eyes looking in different directions. The flavour text 'Frantic are the eyes of the dreamer' describes the REM phenomenon directly.
