How We Review CS2 Skin Gambling Sites

Our scoring methodology, testing approach, and refresh cadence — written down so you can hold us to it.

The five-criterion score

Every site gets a score out of 5 stars, calculated as a weighted average of these five criteria. Weights are fixed across all reviews so scores are directly comparable.

Criterion Weight What we measure
Reliability & payout speed 30% Real deposits + real withdrawals from a real account. Median crypto withdrawal time, median skin withdrawal time, and any failed/stalled payouts during testing.
Provably-fair record 20% Whether the site publishes a verifiable provably-fair system, whether server-seed hashes are committed before rounds, and whether independent verification matches the site's published outcome.
Coin-to-dollar value 20% The effective $/coin rate after deposits, withdrawals, and any conversion spread. Sites with low coin value relative to deposit size lose points here.
Game library & UX 15% Number of distinct game modes, mobile experience, navigation clarity, support response time during testing, and how aggressive the upsell/notification design is.
Bonus & ongoing value 15% Welcome bonus size after wagering, daily/weekly recurring rewards, level/VIP value, and how transparent the bonus terms are.

How testing actually works

  1. Account creation. A real Steam account is registered and KYC-verified where required. We never use throwaway accounts that bypass age checks.
  2. Funded testing. Real deposits — typically between $20 and $200 per site, paid from RiskySkins funds, never reimbursed by the operator. We pay every fee the user would pay.
  3. Game rotation. Each available game mode is played at least 100 rounds at minimum stakes to surface RNG anomalies and UX issues.
  4. Withdrawal test. At least one crypto withdrawal and one skin withdrawal are completed before the review goes live. Sites that block test withdrawals get an automatic 0 on Reliability.
  5. Provably-fair verification. For every site that publishes a provably-fair system, we hash-verify at least 10 rounds against the published server seeds.
  6. Long-tail watch. Reviews are reopened every 90 days for a quick re-test (deposit, one game session, one withdrawal). Bonuses and coin values are re-checked monthly.

When we drop a site

A previously-listed site is removed from comparisons and rankings if any of these become true:

  • A withdrawal is blocked or stalled beyond the operator's published SLA without a clear, communicated reason.
  • The provably-fair system stops verifying against published seeds (fairness regression).
  • Operator-side terms become materially worse without notice (silent coin-value drops, retroactive wagering requirements).
  • License is revoked or the operator becomes inaccessible from the major regions our readers come from.

Conflict-of-interest disclosure

RiskySkins runs on affiliate revenue. When a reader signs up via one of our links and deposits, we earn a referral commission. To prevent this from biasing reviews:

  • Affiliate links are visually identical to non-affiliate links — there's no incentive for a reader to click a higher-paying one.
  • Scores are produced before commercial terms are negotiated, and a deteriorating score will pull a site out of the comparison even when commercial terms are favourable.
  • We disclose the affiliate relationship in the footer and on every review page.

Refresh cadence

  • Bonus codes: verified every 30 days, removed within 7 days of going dead.
  • Coin-to-dollar values: spot-checked every 30 days.
  • Casino reviews: full re-review every 90 days; minor edits as needed.
  • Best-of rankings: recalculated whenever any underlying review's score changes.

Every review carries a visible "Last reviewed" date so readers can see how fresh the assessment is.

Corrections & contact

If anything on this site is factually wrong — a coin value, a fee, a withdrawal time, an operator detail — please email hello@riskyskins.com. We respond within 48 hours and post-correct with a visible note in the review.
