Warbird was introduced with the Shattered Web Case in November 2019. Its design concept builds aging and wear directly into the narrative: the skin is presented as a historically used weapon whose paint has degraded over time.
The weapon was originally blue with a yellow heat shield; age and use have visibly degraded the finish, creating a worn, time-weathered appearance. The skin's story is told through its apparent history rather than a clean, new paint job.
A conceptually self-aware Mil-Spec M249 where higher float values actually reinforce the design's narrative. The 'old bird' concept gives worn copies authentic in-world character.
Mil-Spec Grade; drops from the Shattered Web Case at roughly 1-in-8 odds per opening at this tier.
Obtainable from the Shattered Web Case. StatTrak variant available. Min float 0.05 makes Factory New copies rare but achievable in the 0.05–0.07 band. Max float 0.65 allows all grades.
Factory New (rare, 0.05–0.07 band) through Battle-Scarred; the 0.65 max float cap allows all grades. Unlike most skins, heavier wear is narratively appropriate—a Battle-Scarred copy is exactly what the concept implies.
Weathered blue and yellow paint simulating historical use and aging. The degraded finish is the design—wear adds to the narrative rather than detracting from it.
Appreciated for its self-aware concept. Players who enjoy worn aesthetics often prefer mid-to-high float Warbirds, as the aging is the point. The 'This old bird deserves a rest' flavor text is well-regarded.
