CS2 Wingman Ranks – Full Guide (2026)

CS2 wingman ranks guide for 2026. All 18 ranks, distribution data, map pool, how the ranking system works, and tips to climb faster in 2v2 competitive.

CS2 Wingman Ranks – Full Guide (2026)

Wingman is CS2’s 2v2 competitive mode. Smaller maps. One bomb site. Fast rounds. And a completely separate ranking system from regular competitive. Your cs2 wingman ranks track your 2v2 skill independently from your 5v5 rank.

This guide covers every wingman rank, the distribution data, how the system works, the current map pool, and how to rank up faster.

All 18 CS2 Wingman Ranks

# Rank Tier Skill Level
1 Silver I Silver New to Wingman

3 Silver III Silver Basic aim and positioning
4 Silver IV Silver Developing coordination
5 Silver Elite Silver Understands site control
6 Silver Elite Master Silver Ready to climb
7 Gold Nova I Gold Nova Average Wingman player
8 Gold Nova II Gold Nova Consistent 2v2 play

15 Legendary Eagle Eagle Top tier
16 Legendary Eagle Master Eagle Elite player
17 Supreme Master First Class Supreme Near-professional
18 The Global Elite Global Top 1%

The same 18 ranks from regular competitive apply to Wingman. But your Wingman rank is completely separate. A Gold Nova III in competitive might be Legendary Eagle in Wingman. The modes test different skills.

Wingman Rank Distribution

Rank Group % of Players (approx.)
Silver (S1 to SEM) ~35-40%
Gold Nova (GN1 to GNM) ~35-40%
Master Guardian (MG1 to DMG) ~15-20%
Eagle (LE to LEM) ~5%
Supreme + Global Elite ~1%

Most Wingman players sit in Gold Nova to Master Guardian. Only about 1% reach Global Elite. The distribution skews slightly higher than competitive because Wingman attracts more experienced players who play 2v2 as a side mode.

How Wingman Ranking Works

Wingman uses a hidden ELO rating behind the visible rank. Here is what affects it:

Wins matter most. Your rank moves up when you win and down when you lose. The outcome of the match is the biggest factor.

Individual stats help. Kills, assists, damage, and MVP stars influence your ELO change. A 16-12 win with 25 kills ranks you up faster than a 16-14 win with 8 kills.

Opponent skill matters. Beat higher-ranked opponents and your ELO jumps more. Lose to lower-ranked opponents and it drops harder.

10 placement wins required. You need 10 competitive wins in Wingman before your rank appears. The system evaluates your performance during these 10 games to place you.

Separate from competitive. Your Wingman rank tracks independently. Playing competitive doesn’t affect your Wingman rank and vice versa.

Wingman vs Competitive Ranking

Factor Wingman Competitive
Team Size 2v2 5v5
Bomb Sites 1 2
Rounds to Win 9 13
Map Pool Smaller maps or single sites Full competitive maps
Match Duration ~15 min ~30-45 min
Key Skill Individual aim + duo synergy Team strategy + utility usage
Rank Tracking Separate ELO Separate ELO per map

Wingman rewards raw aim and partner chemistry. Competitive rewards strategy, utility, and team play. Many players rank higher in Wingman because 2v2 eliminates the “bad teammate” factor.

Current Wingman Map Pool (2026)

Map Site Play Style
Overpass B site Close-range combat, Monster control
Vertigo A site Vertical gameplay, ramp fights
Nuke B site Fast-paced close quarters
Rooftop Custom Unique skyscraper setting (added Oct 2025)
Stronghold Custom Compact dedicated Wingman map

Wingman maps are either compact versions of competitive maps (using a single bombsite) or dedicated smaller maps. Rooftop is the newest addition, added in October 2025. The action takes place on top of a skyscraper. Unlike anything else in CS2.

Tips to Rank Up in Wingman

Find a consistent partner. Wingman is 2v2. Chemistry matters more than individual skill. Play with the same person and develop set plays.

Master 2 maps. You queue for specific maps. Learn every angle on your two favorites. Map knowledge beats aim in Wingman.

Play aggressive on T side. In 2v2, sitting back lets CTs set up crossfires. Push fast. Trade fast. Don’t give them time to position.

Hold crossfires on CT side. One player holds the site. One plays off-angle. When the T peeks one, the other shoots them from the side. Crossfires win CT rounds.

Communicate everything. In 5v5, one missed callout hurts. In 2v2, one missed callout loses the round. Call every sound. Every flash. Every peek.

Warm up before queuing. 10 minutes of deathmatch warms your aim. Check our CS2 community servers guide for the best practice servers.
