The Shadow Case arrived in September 2015, delivering a set of community finishes including several with post-apocalyptic and survival themes. Survivor Z appeared as a Mil-Spec FAMAS — stencilled with masking tape and deliberately distressed — projecting a makeshift, survival-context aesthetic.
Survivor Z uses masking tape stencilling then distressing — the stencil creates a pattern across the FAMAS that is then physically distressed to add wear and age. The 'Z' references zombie fiction, positioning the weapon as a survivor's improvised firearm in a post-apocalyptic scenario. The flavour text delivers the answer to its own riddle: Survivor Z.
Survivor Z has maintained steady demand in the Shadow Case's Mil-Spec pool. The survival-horror theme and distressed finish give it a specific aesthetic identity that attracts players building post-apocalyptic inventory setups.
Mil-Spec Grade from the Shadow Case — roughly a 1-in-31 chance per opening. Float caps at 0.60, covering all five exteriors. StatTrak™ variants exist.

Available from Factory New through Battle-Scarred with a max float of 0.60, covering all five exterior grades.
Masking tape stencilling applied then distressed — the stencilled pattern given physical wear and aging on top of the original application.
Survivor Z earns appreciation for committing to the survival-horror aesthetic — the stencilled-and-distressed technique, zombie reference, and riddle flavour text work together as a cohesive package within the Shadow Case's thematic range.
