There are 20 knife types in CS2 and 408 individual skins. Knives are one of 12 categories in our complete CS2 skins database. Prices start at $40 for a Battle-Scarred Navaja Scorched and climb past $100,000 for a Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem with the right pattern seed.
Every CSGO knife listed here includes real-time market prices, float values and the case it drops from. Filter by knife type, rarity, finish or color – or read on for a full breakdown of every knife model, what drives its price, and which ones are worth buying at your budget.
All CS2 knives are Covert (red-tier) rarity with the ★ prefix. They drop from weapon cases at roughly 0.26%, or – since CS2 replaced CS:GO – through trade-up contracts that combine 10 Covert skins. There are 20 models, each with a different animation set (draw, inspect, attack). That animation set is a big part of why some knives cost 3x more than others with the same finish.
The Butterfly has the longest inspect animation in CS2 – a full balisong flip – which is why it trades at a 20–40% premium over the same finish on other models. A Factory New Butterfly Doppler Phase 2 costs around $1,800; a Bayonet Doppler Phase 2 with the same exterior is $900.
A curved blade and finger ring with a twirl inspect animation – a cult following since 2013. Even the cheapest Karambit (Safari Mesh BS) costs around $360. At the top end, the Case Hardened Blue Gem (pattern 387) has had bids exceeding $1.5 million.
The M9 and classic Bayonet both date to the 2013 Arms Deal update; the M9 costs $150–$200 more for the same finish thanks to its more aggressive draw. Bayonet entry: ~$110 (Scorched BS); M9 Bayonet entry: ~$260. The Talon Knife (2018) has a Karambit-style curved blade with an infinite-spin inspect, from $185 (Safari Mesh BS) to $2,300+ (Crimson Web FN).

The Navaja Knife Scorched in Battle-Scarred condition – around $41 on third-party marketplaces. On the Steam Community Market, the cheapest knives are typically Shadow Daggers or Navaja Knives in Scorched, Safari Mesh or Rust Coat, ranging from $40–$55.
The Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem (pattern seed 387) holds the record, with bids exceeding $1.5 million. Among standard finishes without rare patterns, the Butterfly Knife Doppler Sapphire Factory New trades around $10,000–$12,000.
20 knife types: Bayonet, Bowie Knife, Butterfly Knife, Classic Knife, Falchion Knife, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Huntsman Knife, Karambit, Kukri Knife, M9 Bayonet, Navaja Knife, Nomad Knife, Paracord Knife, Shadow Daggers, Skeleton Knife, Stiletto Knife, Survival Knife, Talon Knife and Ursus Knife.
Two ways. First, open a weapon case – every case has roughly a 0.26% chance of dropping a knife. Second, use the trade-up contract system: combine 10 Covert (red) skins for a chance at a knife. Trade-ups are new to CS2 and did not exist in CS:GO.
Under $100: the Navaja Knife or Shadow Daggers. $100–$300: the Huntsman or Gut Knife in mid-tier finishes. $300–$600: the Talon Knife or Bayonet in Doppler or Fade. Above $600: the Butterfly Knife and Karambit are where most players want to end up.
The trade-up contract system added new supply since CS2 launched, which softened prices on some lower-tier finishes. But premium models – especially Butterfly and Karambit in Doppler, Fade and Crimson Web – have held value or increased, because demand for top-tier knives consistently outpaces supply.
Same knives, updated engine. All CSGO knife skins carried over to CS2 with identical names, finishes and float values. The Source 2 engine renders them with better lighting and surface detail, and CS2 added the trade-up contract path to getting knives.
The Butterfly Knife has the most complex animation (a three-stage balisong flip). The Karambit's finger-ring twirl is the most recognized, the Skeleton Knife has a rare ultra-inspect, and the Talon has an infinite-spin loop.
