What makes the Shadow Daggers unique

Valve added the Shadow Daggers in September 2015 with the Shadow Case. They were the first and only dual-wield knife in Counter-Strike. The player holds a dagger in each hand with a brass-knuckle grip, and the attack animation is a rapid double-stab rather than a slash. The inspect animation shows both daggers spinning simultaneously.

The dual-wield mechanic is polarizing. Some players love the unique first-person view of two blades; others feel the small blade size makes finishes less visible compared to larger models like the Bowie or M9 Bayonet. This divided opinion keeps demand — and prices — lower than single-blade knives with comparable finishes.

At ~$36 for a Forest DDPAT BS, the Shadow Daggers are one of the two cheapest knives in CS2 (alongside the Navaja Knife at ~$41). A Shadow Daggers Doppler Phase 2 at ~$90 is the second-cheapest Doppler after the Navaja, making them an excellent budget gateway to premium finishes.

Wide case availability and lower demand (compared to curved-blade models) keeps Shadow Daggers consistently affordable. The Shadow Case, which introduced them, is one of the cheaper discontinued cases.

How float and pattern affect Shadow Daggers prices

Float value follows standard tiers. The small blade size means wear is less visible than on larger knives, which narrows the FN-to-BS price gap on most finishes. However, Crimson Web and Night still have restricted minimum floats that make FN copies rare.

Pattern seed is interesting on Shadow Daggers because patterns apply to both blades. Case Hardened blue gems need both blades to show blue for maximum value ($300–1,500+). Fade (100% vs 80% = ~$40 gap), Marble Fade (fire and ice = 1.3–1.5x), and Slaughter patterns are evaluated per-blade.
